KICKSTART'S primary goal is to reach city youth. They have many programs in suburban areas to ensure that they meet the needs of students in various environments. Their program generally begins in the sixth grade and is continued throughout middle school. After graduating middle school the students are encouraged to enroll in one of the after school programs offered to high school students.
